Community of metazoan parasites of the cockfish Callorhinchus callorynchus (Linnaeus ,1758) (Chimaeriformes: Callorhinchidae) from artisanal fishing in Pisco, Ica, Peru

There is an extensive lack of information on the parasitic fauna accompanying cartilaginous fish in Peru. The objective this work was to identify community parasite metazoans cockfish Callorhinchus callorynchus (Linnaeus, 1758) (Chimaeriformes: Callorhinchidae) from artisanal fishing San Andrés, Pisco, Ica, Thirty-one specimens C. were collected between June 2018 and October 2019. Following necropsy, six species parasites obtained: Gyrocotyle rugosa Diesing, 1850 (Cestoda), Callorhynchocotyle callorhynchi (Manter, 1955) (Monogenea), Callorhynchicola branchialis Brinkmann, 1952 Branchellion lobata Moore, (Hirudinea), Prokroyeria meridionalis (Ramírez, 1975) (Copepoda) unidentified Anisakidae family (Nematoda). G. tapeworm most prevalent (77.42%), followed by monogenean Cle. callorhync hi (54.84%) finally copepod P . (16.13%). total body length sex Ca. showed no association with respect parasitological indices prevalence, intensity, mean abundance. Cla. registered for second time same host, but first department Ica. However, present study constitutes geographic record , B. P. a new host
